Hampstead Pergola

Writer: duck&rooduck&roo

Beauty.

That’s enough for this post because it simply sums up Hampstead Pergola.

The pergola itself completely oozes a Grecian atmosphere, from the grand marble structures to the masses of floral decorations, you are transported back in time to a forgotten paradise. Not only is the pergola a place of utter beauty, it is also a place of total tranquillity. A hidden gem of Hampstead that sits peacefully in a quieter sector of the large heath and is unknown to many, which definitely makes the experience more pleasing - it’s a secret to you and the pergola!

An approximate 10 minute walk from Hampstead Underground Station the hilltop garden is easy to commute to, however there can be some confusion as to where you turn into the park, but so long as you keep an eye out for the signs there’ll be no problem- and yes it may feel like you are illegally trespassing into private property, but it’s allowed!

This place is perfect for those glamorous Instagram posts, perfect for professional photos (many were being taken whilst we were t) and alternatively perfect for a cute picnic then a read of a book. The flexibility of the pergola makes the place even more attractive and gives you even more reason to go.

If you eventually become bored of the silence (WHICH IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE) you can take a short stroll back to Hampstead Station which is surrounded with abundances of businesses and an ice cream shop (called Venchi)! May I add this gelato was some of the best I've ever had - and trust me I know my ice cream.

Ultimately, there is no question that the pergola is a must see when in London. The beauty shines out and subsequently causes nothing but awe. Go, take some pictures and relax! Don't forget to send them to us. We'd love to see them, and even maybe put them on our blog.
